Fourth step

After the shortest step we are in the longest one ever from New Orleans LA --> Santa Fe N.M

20 hours of driving normally.

But we got really lucky because on this long desert landscape and straight roads we got the wind in our faces for approximately 10 hours which allowed us some unexpected breaks, like really unexpected. The first one was to sleep beside a little bbq place that was so cute and posh, lol, where we spent 3h to sleep a little and the second one was for me a good opportunity to learn more about the history of the US. Yes, in Elk. Oklahoma there is the national museum of route 66.

Lot of little stories about this road that traveled from east to west.
A really nice museum with a lot of objects and machines saved all those times so nice stop.

And after that, back to the driving, long long long driving, but luckily i had my co-pilot that was present to comfort me when i was locked at 55mph.

I give josh lots of shit, but it's because i love him and he knows that without him i wouldn't be able to make it.

During this nice drive we got another good surprise when a truck passed us and blew his tire just in front of us which broke the bug shield and almost blew up the wind shield.

Scary shit... but finally we made it to Santa Fe in 26h not that bad in fact but so so long.

New Orleans

New Orleans is a really nice place with a really unique french quarter and a street that is great.
Bourbon street, yes!!!...full of bars and restaurants but because of the driving we couldn't really enjoy it like we would normally, but we found one of the most unique patios and a beautiful terrace.

I would like to say a huge thanks to the city of New Orleans too for the parking opportunity that we had with THE trailer and more than that the parking ticket that we got...
But such a nice place. I will have to go back and spend a ton more times there.

Third step

Loxley AL --> New Orleans LA.

This step was one of the fastest ones, only 3 hours of driving, but finally some changes in the landscape. We were finished with the trees and the flats. Now it's still flat but with swamps.

No friends there, so just a little visit to the french quarter in the middle of an action movie film set, and a visit to 2 nice "resto" bar.

Second step

Indiatlantic FL --> Loxley AL

So we left Florida around 11pm and we went to Loxley to meet Michael and Liliane.

Address not available on the GPS will we be able to find it?

No way. We finished with Liliane showing us the road but it's only 8.30 am so we had all day to have fun after some coffee of course.

On our way to the brunch we passed in front of the first french quarter where began the famous New Orleans French quarter. What? In Loxley? Yes sir.

And that evening Michael cooked us a beautiful Craw fish meal and we had a really good evening with some of Michael's friends from the army. It was so cool to meet different people.

A little rest... the morning after, couple tears and good bye Michael and Liliane.

Let's go to New Orleans

Second day

Our goal is to be in Denver in 9 days so what we do???
We go to see the first Manatee of my life so cool and not in the zoo, in a little river on our way to the golf course.

Yes we are so easy on the travel that we allow ourselves a little recreational time.

So let's go play golf on the air force base of Indiatlantic with some gators and lakes and so much fun.

Thanks Marinus.

A little diner later and some tears, good bye Marinus and Sarah.
It's time for us to leave Indiatlantic direction Loxley AL.

First step.

Durham North Carolina with the famous DUKE University (you know what brought me in the US... not to study hell no lol) was the start of the road.

I brought my friend Josh in this beautiful adventure.

After 20 minutes of driving close to get lost not even a cent of the road and already bad start...Because my co-pilot was dieing because of his allergies(josh)

5 minutes after.... traffic (so cool i love driving in the us) First car rack. We were already late on the schedule and here the sky fall on our heads.

After 160 miles, what's wrong? The light of the gas tank already on.

I made lot of math to be sure that my saving would be enough to go to Montana but like that I will stop in the middle of Oklahoma without gas, help, and food and cigarettes...

But what ever Marinus is waiting for us at Indiatlantic. No time to complain just drive as fast as possible without sucking too much gas.

Hahaha after 11 hours of drive finally here we are Marinus.

Lets go to have some beers with some psychologists doctors. So fun to meet some new people and have some constructive conversations. Lol decompression after this long first drive.

Road trip

The road trip of my life for now...
Durham N.C --> Bozeman M.T

North way was way to easy and boring so i decided to head south to see couple friends on the way to Bozeman where Kelly was waiting for me.
